Abstract: The work developed in this thesis aimed to produce a composite master or additive Al-TiB2 that allows easily incorporate ex-situ TiB2 in baths of aluminum and its alloys particles to produce metal matrix composites with different aluminum contents reinforcement. In this thesis the results of obtaining the compound teacher, which was processed in two ways are presented; 1) mixing TiB2 powder base flux and K-Al-F for subsequently compacting and introduced into the metal bath of aluminum and 2) mixing TiB2 powder, aluminum and flux (2: 2: 1 by mass). In the latter case, the mixture was pressed and compacted were heated to 690 °C in an inert atmosphere (argon). The principle of this proposal is based on the use of flux, which has the ability to dissolve the aluminum oxide particles protect oxidation TiB2 create wettable surfaces and reinforcement particles, to facilitate the incorporation and retention of particles in the molten metal.
