Abstract: Mineral of Angangueo is located in the east of the State of Michoacán in the limit with the State of Mexico. In recent years it has been affected by climatic, geological and environmental phenomena, which have had a negative impact on this community. Due to the existing vegetation and the climatic conditions of the site, it is appropriate to use Dendrochronology techniques, due to the type of vegetation in the study area, which corresponds mainly to conifers, which show a well defined annual growth. The species found were: Pinus pseudostrobus, Pinus michoacana and Abies religiosa. Following the methodology of Villanueva et al., 2009, samples of 157 trees (19 live in chip and 138 of stumps or trees demolished by clandestine cutting in cross section) were obtained. The age period of the samples is from 1897 to 1987. The climatic chronology is developed for a period from 1935 to 2011. Where the humid and dry climatic periods were identified. Later, through the integration of methodologies such as Dendropirochronology and 14C dating, a fire chronology was generated, identifying the years 1670, 1883, 1900, 1942, 1973 and 1999 as years of fire occurrence in the study area. For the first time records of the fires of 1670, 1983 and 1900 were obtained. Perforating insect scars (of the genus Tomicus) were identified in 61 cross sections, corresponding to 66% of the total samples. A period of insect scarring was identified from 1978 to 1988. Subsequently there is a lapse of absence of insect scars, up to 1995 and through 2011; These scars increased for the year 2007 and until 2011; Having to carry out a controlled burning for the eradication of the pest in this zone.
