Resumen : The energy consumption generated by residential and commercial buildings increased exponentially. Thus, the energy efficiency (EE) in buildings became a primordial objective in national and international levels. Due to this, the design polymer materials and composites were stand out, because increased EE in buildings. However, these materials haven´t reached their maximum, since they still lack of physical, chemical and quantum understanding of their structure. Consequently, in this contribution were shows theoretical-experimental analysis of PMMA oligomers (poly (methyl methacrylate)) and those associations with metal oxides. The theoretical-experimental analysis allowed understanding the experimental behavior through material quantum chemistry. The theoretical analysis was carry out by molecular simulation using molecular mechanics (MM), molecular dynamics (DM) and density functional theory (DFT). In the experimental section, polymer matrices were synthesized by anionic polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) using as n-butyl lithium as initiator (ARBuLi), besides Fe3O4 nanoparticles were used as filling in these matrices. The theoretical results showed that ARBuLi was affected by chemical impediments in the solvation of the lithium ion (Li+) formed by Van der Waals forces between Li+, C-O-C and C=O groups. Additionally, it was determined that the reactivity of the PMMA oligomer chains with reactive sites (PMMALi+) increased. Also through MM and DM were determined the energy associations (Ebinding) in the interface of PMMALi+/ Fe3O4 and PMMALi+/TiO2 systems. The results showed that PMMALi+ had a better affinity with the magnetite surfaces (Fe3O4). The materials were analyzed through Raman, ATR-FTIR, XRD, TGA and photoluminescence (FL), the characterization results were in agree with the theoretical results.
