Gorostiza entre los contemporáneos: Una aproximación a muerte sin fin

Abstract

With this work we seek to carry out an understanding approach to the poem Death without end of José Gorostiza, considering the importance that he/she has acquired the one poem for the Mexican contemporary literature. Not we have the ambition of draining the one sense neither the significances of the text. However our investigation will look for to respond to the questions that you/they go beyond a first admiring reading. Happiness interpretive reading implies to study the formation and the author's development as well as its socio-cultural corresponding context. This work would be incomplete without standing out of decisive way to the group of partner’s writers belonging to the same one generation of Gorostiza, well-known as the Contemporaries. We will be in charge of preferable way of the reading that made of the poem critical one of the most outstanding of the group in mention: Jorge Costs. Starting from the first reading that we carry out of Death without end, we live one special experience, difficult to understand and to explain in that moment. The intuition us he/she said that we were before a work different to that known and blinding in their strange one beauty. With the time and the successive readings the suspicion became certainty. Now the same motivation took us to look for a narrower approach with the poem, with the desire of making us of the enough tools to attempt one personal interpretation that, although modest and limited by our capacities, be a contribution to that inexhaustible sea of deep waters that is - in the beginning of the century XXI - Death without end.

Con este trabajo pretendemos llevar a cabo un acercamiento comprensivo al poema Muerte sin fin de José Gorostiza, considerando la importancia que ha adquirido el poema para la literatura mexicana contemporánea. No tenemos la ambición de agotar el sentido ni las significaciones del texto. Sin embargo nuestra investigación buscará responder a las preguntas que vayan más allá de una primera lectura admirativa. Dicha lectura interpretativa implica estudiar la formación y el desarrollo del autor así como su correspondiente contexto socio-cultural. Este trabajo sería incompleto sin resaltar de manera determinante al grupo de compañeros escritores pertenecientes a la misma generación de Gorostiza, conocida como los Contemporáneos. Nos ocuparemos de manera preferente de la lectura que hizo del poema uno de los más destacados críticos del grupo en mención: Jorge Cuesta. A partir de la primera lectura que realizamos de Muerte sin fin, vivimos una experiencia especial, difícil de comprender y explicar en ese momento. La intuición nos decía que estábamos ante una obra diferente a lo conocido y deslumbrante en su rara belleza. Con el tiempo y las sucesivas lecturas la sospecha se volvió certeza. Ahora la misma motivación nos llevó a buscar un acercamiento más estrecho con el poema, con el deseo de hacernos de las herramientas suficientes para intentar una interpretación personal que, aunque modesta y limitada por nuestras capacidades, sea una aportación a ese inagotable mar de aguas profundas que es -en el inicio del siglo XXI- Muerte sin fin.
