Abstract: The synthesis of micro and nano ZnO particles using the Sol-Gel method with hydrothermal treatment, in order to obtain a xerogel with high purity particles and fine agglomerates with nano and micrometric size. Within the Sol-gel technique, the molar ratio of the aqueous solution and the synthesis temperature of the base material were varied, the precursor and the molar ratio of the precipitating agent were modified to investigate its effect on the control of size, shape, crystallinity and distribution of the micro and nanoparticles obtained. Also, the formation of the mesopores formed on the faces of the hexagonal microparticles was investigated without the use of some type of organic template. All results were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS), particle size analysis ultraviolet visible spectroscopy (UV-VIS), analysis by the Brunauer-Emmett Teller method (BET) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Subsequently, the sintering of the zinc oxide samples was carried out, allowing to obtain tablets of 10 mm in diameter, which were characterized by the electrical impedance spectroscopy (EI) technique. The importance of the results obtained was that dense nanoparticles with diverse morphology can be obtained, by using a method that is fast, simple and reproducible, adjusting or varying the precursor, the molar ratio of sodium hydroxide, or the temperature of the treatment. hydrothermal. In addition, mesoporous microparticles were obtained without using any type of organic template, and this is considered a novelty in the area of mesoporous materials, because it is known that, to obtain porosity in some material, regardless of which it is, it is necessary to use some type of template during the synthesis, which in our case was not necessary and, however, the mesopores were obtained.
