Abstract: This research addresses and analyzes a peculiar religious phenomenon popularly known as "messianism", "movement of Hebrew roots" or "Messianic Judaism" in Latin America. These are groups of evangelical Christian origin – mainly Pentecostal – who, apart from the official Jewish and Christian institutions, build through a constant metamorphosis a hybrid religious identity that escapes from official census and confessional religious sources; fact that conform it by mixing beliefs, practices, symbols and cultural elements of both Jewish and Christian origin. The work seeks to find the germinating root of this dilemma that supposes to possess a religious practice that tries to reconcile the practice of the Jewish Torah Law at the same time as believing in Jesus as a redemptive agent, which can be found from the beginnings of the very movement that Jesus and his apostles founded. The emphasis is on contemporaneity in chapters two and three where it seeks to bring praxis and materiality, which was collected through data obtained from digital and field ethnography, from this religious practice to the field of theoretical reflection to account for the conceptual, effective and exact approach, which is needed to understand in a deep and substantial way this religious phenomenon that multiplies in a very heterogeneous way. This has been done with multidisciplinary tools, but emphasizing the arsenal of philosophy and phenomenology.
