Abstract: This thesis deals with the application of the "Safe Hospitals" program in the General Hospital Regional N° 1 (HGR N° 1) and the General Hospital of Zone N° 83 (HGZ N° 83), of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) Delegation of Michoacán, which is located in the municipality of Charo and in the city of Morelia respectively. This program aims to identify hospitals located in areas at risk, classify them according to their operational capacity and safety level, determining a contingency plan in case of disaster based on the above. The objective of this work was to verify and classify hospitals according to the parameters specified in the program, so that the IMSS has the necessary information from their health facilities in relation to structural and non-structural area, this will it conducted a field assessment following the rector of the Program document, based on a checklist where you are physically checked the hospitals taking evidence of the mentioned aspects and making observations about the security situation in areas considered, resulting in establishments IMSS health are evaluated in areas of low risk with high resolution capacity (HGR No. 1) and low (HGZ No. 83) and with a high degree of safety even with non-structural issues that require priority attention to the hospitals, that it can provide the service at full capacity and in its very structure during and after a disaster. El presente trabajo de tesis trata de la aplicación del Programa "Hospital Seguro" en el Hospital General Regional N° 1 (HGR N° 1) y el Hospital General de Zona N° 83 (HGZ N° 83), del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) de la Delegación Michoacán, los cuales se encuentran ubicados en el municipio de Charo y en la ciudad de Morelia respectivamente. Este Programa tiene como finalidad identificar hospitales ubicados en zonas de riesgo, clasificarlos de acuerdo a su capacidad resolutiva y grado de seguridad, determinando un plan de contingencia en caso de desastre con base en los aspectos mencionados. El objetivo de este trabajo fue verificar y clasificar los hospitales de acuerdo a los parámetros especificados en el Programa, de tal manera que el IMSS cuente con la información necesaria de sus establecimientos de salud en lo referente al área estructural y no estructural, para ello se llevó a cabo una evaluación de campo siguiendo el documento rector del Programa, con base en una Lista de Verificación donde se revisó físicamente los hospitales tomando evidencia de los aspectos señalados y haciendo observaciones sobre las condiciones de seguridad en las áreas consideradas, resultando que los establecimientos de salud del IMSS evaluados se encuentran en zonas de riesgo bajo con capacidad resolutiva alta (HGR N° 1) y baja (HGZ N° 83) y con un grado de seguridad alto aunque con aspectos no-estructurales que requieren atención primordial para que los hospitales puedan brindar el servicio a su máxima capacidad y en su misma estructura durante y después de un desastre.
