Propiedades físico-mecánicas de morteros de cemento elaborados con ceniza de elaboración de ladrillo y perlita expandida

Abstract

The present work is a investigation focused in the search of the percentage of substitution of ash of elaboration of brick (CEL) and a mixture of ash of elaboration of brick and ground expanded perlite (PEM), in mortars base Portland cement, with the object to improve the mechanical properties and durability, in addition to reducing the amount of cement used in the preparation of the same to pollute less to the environment. The sand used in the research was from the material supply bank called "Joyitas" which is located on the Joyitas highway, entrance to San Bernabé at kilometer 28 in Michoacán, while the ash from brick processing was from the brick located in the community of Angahuan belonging to the municipality of Uruapan, on the Los Reyes-Charapan highway. Three mixtures were designed, one control and two with substitutions, the first substitution was CELU with 7%, with respect to the mass of Portland cement, the third substitution was a mixture of CEL and PEM with percentages of 5% and 7% . Samples were made of cubic, prismatic and cylindrical shape, which were tested for durability such as electrical resistivity and ultrasonic pulse velocity. As well as simple compression resistance. The test ages were 3, 7, 14, 28 and 120 days. The characterization of the materials, the development of the non-destructive tests, of durability were carried out following the ASTM norms and the Mexican NMX norms. Favorable results were obtained in the mixture with higher substitution, even greater than the control mixture. The mixture of lower percentage of substitution is within the parameters indicated in the corresponding standard. And both substitutions give us better results than the control mix.

El presente trabajo es una investigación enfocada en la búsqueda del porcentaje de sustitución adecuado de ceniza de elaboración de ladrillo (CEL) y una mezcla de ceniza de elaboración de ladrillo y perlita expandida molida (PEM), en morteros base cemento Portland, con el objeto de mejorar las propiedades mecánicas y de durabilidad, además de reducir la cantidad de cemento utilizado en la elaboración del mismo para contaminar menos al medio ambiente. La arena utilizada en dicha investigación fue proveniente del banco de materiales de materiales llamado “Joyitas” que está ubicado en la carretera Joyitas entrada a San Bernabé en el kilómetro 28 en Michoacán, mientras que la ceniza de elaboración de ladrillo fue proveniente de la ladrillera ubicada en la comunidad de Angahuan perteneciente al municipio de Uruapan, en la carretera Los Reyes-Charapan. Se diseñaron 3 mezclas, un testigo y dos con sustituciones, la primera sustitución es de CELU con el 7%, con respecto a la masa del cemento Portland, la tercera sustitución fue una mezcla de CEL y PEM con porcentajes de 5% y 7%. Se realizaron muestras de forma cúbica, prismática y cilíndrica, a las cuales se les practicaron pruebas por durabilidad como son resistividad eléctrica y velocidad de pulso ultrasónico. Así como resistencia a la compresión simple. Las edades de prueba fueron de 3, 7, 14, 28 y 120 días. La caracterización de los materiales, el desarrollo de las pruebas no destructivas, de durabilidad se realizaron siguiendo las normativas ASTM y las normas mexicanas NMX. Se obtuvieron resultados favorables en la mezcla con sustitución mayor, incluso mayores que la mezcla control. La mezcla de menor porcentaje de sustitución está dentro de los parámetros indicados en la norma correspondiente. Y ambas sustituciones nos arrojan resultados mejores que la mezcla control.
