Abstract: Roof is defined as that structure, whose location is between the sky and the last floor of a construction. One of the most common roofing materials is steel. The main function of a roof is to isolate the building from climate deterioration. Said climatic deterioration is caused by the continuous exposure of the building in humid environments, extreme heat, and constant rain, among others. On the other hand, Pacanda Island is characterized by having one of the wettest climates in the region. This climate is the main cause of the decay of public outdoor facilities, one of the main affected is the sports unit found in the multipurpose square of the Island. Since the sports building, having been exposed to rain and rays of the Sun constantly, it was greatly damaged over time. In the present work, the protection of the sports area of the Island of Pacanda was raised through a coating. We used the construction processes of a steel roof, armed with various types of profiles (polines), materials used in construction in joint use with the tool for proper elaboration, based and used to a catalog of concepts and structural plans. With the purpose of improving the conditions of the facilities to continue promoting the recreational culture of physical activity, necessary to improve the quality of life of the citizens of the island of Pacanda.
