Abstract

At present, museums in our country are conceived in large spaces, with two functions primarily: the conservation of cultural and artistic heritage, on the one hand; and on the other hand, this legacy to the people of Mexico. The museums with greater collections were located in the capital and in large cities; But it must be recognized that the claim of representativeness that has characterized the integration of the collections, in fact, implied the exclusion of the Mexican population based in small communities and municipalities whose access to their own cultural heritage was difficult.

En la actualidad los museos en nuestro país son concebidos en grandes espacios, con dos funciones primordialmente: la conservación del patrimonio cultural y artístico, por un lado; y por el otro dar a conocer este legado al pueblo de México. Los museos con mayores acervos, se ubicaron en la capital y en grandes ciudades; pero hay que reconocer que la pretensión de representatividad que ha caracterizado la integración de las colecciones, de hecho, implicó la exclusión de la población mexicana asentada en pequeñas comunidades y municipios cuyo acceso a su propio patrimonio cultural resultaba difícil.
