Abstract

Currently the tenth of Mexicans lies in houses of social interest (IS), which is equivalent to all the homes of the cities of Guadalajara and Monterrey together. Data that rises by leaps and bounds since the country reports an important change in the structure of the population by age, having an increase in the population sector that is in the age of demanding housing (20 to 59 years). The National Housing Promotion Commission (Conafovi) estimated that the annual housing needs 20012010 will amount to 1.1 million units which reflects on the one hand an amount of quantity, for which 730,000 new homes are required, and on the other hand a Quality problem since, of existing homes, almost 400,000 would require improvement actions.

Actualmente la décima parte de los mexicanos reside en casas de interés social (is), lo cual equivale a todas las viviendas de las ciudades de Guadalajara y Monterrey juntas. Dato que se eleva a pasos agigantados ya que el país reporta un cambio importante en la estructura de la población por edades, habiendo un incremento del sector de la población que se encuentra en edad de demandar vivienda (20 a 59 años). La Comisión Nacional de Fomento a la Vivienda (CONAFOVI) estimó que las necesidades anuales de vivienda 20012010 ascenderán a 1.1 millones de unidades lo cual refleja por un lado un problema de cantidad, para el que se requieren 730,000 viviendas nuevas, y por otro lado un problema de calidad ya que, de las viviendas existentes, casi 400,000 requerirían acciones de mejoramiento.
