La competitividad de la industria de autopartes en México en el marco del comercio internacional periodo 1988-2003

Abstract

Automotive components industry has shown an increasing importance in Mexico. This growth obeys to a dramatic increase in the automotive industry and its branches (car assembly, automotive components and delivering), around the world. This research on the automotive components industry was intended to come up with an index that could be used as a tool for measuring the competitive performance on this field in the various states of the Mexican Republic during the years of 1988, 1993, 1998 and 2003, in order to compare this state index against the rest of the states. The results clearly show that the greatest growth rate on competitiveness levels is located in the occidental-central region of Mexico, this fact is closely related to the public politics implanted in this region.

La industria de autopartes en los últimos años ha presentado una importancia sin precedentes en México, correspondiente al crecimiento de la industria automotriz en el mundo. Tema central de esta investigación donde se presenta un índice para medir la competitividad de la rama industrial a nivel estatal, con el fin de conocer el lugar que ha adquirido como parámetro para conocer su presencia en los mercados nacionales e internacionales Los resultados nos muestran que los estados que tienen niveles crecientes de competitividad se encuentran en la región centro occidente, hecho que tiene estrecha relación con el conjunto de políticas públicas que se han venido implantando en dicha región.
