From 2010-2014 Opopeo doubled the number of workshops 60-120 which mostly do not have a home to sell their furniture and handicrafts. The challenge of the thesis well as giving solution to this problem is to achieve a friendly architecture with the context of Opopeo. In short, it is about bringing to mind the original building systems of the past, to involve them with modern and achieve every detail combine, leading to a whole resembling originality. From a conservative point of view can hint, based on the experience that people copy what you see, of course the fact of the transformation of the urban image of some typical villages increasingly used citadinas typologies inserted into the urban fabric, break with the context; then, if we as professionals endow a building containing materials typical of the area but bringing a contemporary design that achieves integrate into their environment, means a double win, because not only is being achieved with the integration in the historical center, but also it is subjectively promoting the use of local materials, and above all, less polluting and economical in relation to some very innovative contemporary materials.
En los últimos años la afluencia turística y su interés hacia las artesanías han propiciado el desarrollo del comercio en la zona. Del 2010 a 2014 Opopeo duplicó el número de talleres de 60 a 120 que en su mayoría no tienen un local donde vender sus muebles y artesanías. La mayoría ha tenido que adaptar su vivienda como taller y tienda de muebles a la vez. Con la creación del Mercado de Artesanías se podrá vender el mueble a un mejor precio, exhibir demás artesanías que no son muy conocidas que produce Opopeo y generar empleos en la población para disminuir la necesidad de emigrar a Estados Unidos. El reto del trabajo de tesis además de dar solución a esta problemática es lograr una arquitectura amigable con el contexto de Opopeo. En resumen, se trata de traer al presente los originarios sistemas de construcción del pasado, para involucrarlos con los modernos y lograr compaginar cada detalle, que conduzca a un todo semejándose a la originalidad. Desde un punto de vista conservador se puede hacer alusión, en base a la experiencia propia, que la gente copia lo que ve, claro está en el hecho de la transformación de la imagen urbana de algunos pueblos típicos que cada vez más utilizan tipologías citadinas que insertadas en la trama urbana, rompen con el contexto; entonces, si nosotros como profesionistas dotamos de un edificio que contenga los materiales típicos de la zona pero aportando un diseño contemporáneo que logre integrarse a su entorno, significa un doble triunfo, pues, no solo se está logrando con la integración en el centro histórico, sino que además se está promoviendo subjetivamente el uso de los materiales de la región, y sobre todo, menos contaminantes y económicos en relación a algunos materiales contemporáneos muy novedosos.
