Eficiencia portuaria de Lázaro Cárdenas en el sistema intermodal de contenedores, 2010-2017

Abstract

In the last years, the maritime transport has been transformed, with the increase of the size of the ships and the implementation of the transport of freight using containers, all this makes relevant the constant evolution of the ports, facilitating the international demands that are under a constant change being the interface between land, rail and maritime transport. The port administration is an important regulator of international trade operations, as well as a facilitator and accelerator of trade. Hence the importance of studying efficiency to detect the factors that must be improved to achieve greater efficiency and thus reduce time and resources. Therefore, the objective of this research is to determine the level of efficiency of the port system of Lázaro Cárdenas in intermodalism in the period 2010-2017. To carry out this objective, a methodology based on operations research is used, which consists in finding the optimal gantry crane assignment to improve the efficiency of the terminal. The results obtained allow us to identify that the period under analysis between the years 2010 to 2017 were inefficient in the loading and unloading of containers.

Durante los últimos años el transporte marítimo se ha transformado, con el aumento del tamaño de los buques y la implementación del transporte de mercancías utilizando contenedores, todo esto hace relevante la evolución constante de los puertos, facilitando las demandas internacionales que están bajo un cambio constante siendo la interface entre el transporte terrestre, ferroviario y marítimo. La administración portuaria es un importante regulador de las operaciones de comercio internacional, así como un facilitador y acelerador del comercio. De ahí la importancia del estudio de la eficiencia para detectar los factores que deben mejorarse para conseguir una mayor eficiencia y así poder reducir los tiempos y recursos. Por lo cual, el objetivo de esta investigación es determinar el nivel de eficiencia del sistema portuario de Lázaro Cárdenas en el intermodalismo de contenedores en el periodo 2010-2017. Para llevar a cabo dicho objetivo se utiliza una metodología basada en investigación de operaciones que consiste en encontrar la asignación de grúas pórtico óptima para mejorar la eficiencia de la terminal. Los resultados obtenidos permiten identificar que el periodo temporal objeto de análisis comprendido entre los años 2010 al 2017 fueron ineficientes en la carga y descarga de contenedores.
