This investigation is the result of the analysis completed in Juana Barragán street, section from Km. 0 + 000.00 to Km. 0 + 800.00 including its adjoining space of the railroad tracks, between the 18 de Marzo street and José Manuel de Herrera in Morelia Michoacán, an area that for years has presented an urban and environmental deterioration, due to the social and economic decline that affects our country. This is noticeable just by walking a few meters to the precariousness and disorder of the place, however, there is an interest in developing this project, for the recovery of the residual space and the improvement of the urban image. The results are synthesized as a diagnosis, addressing the concept of recovery of a residual space and rehabilitation of Juana Barragán street for the improvement of the urban image, a topic that was inspired by the interest to improve the forgotten urban spaces, by the awareness of the urban development around the pedestrian and its lost spaces. The purpose is to determine the viability and requirements of a possible urban intervention, including the socio-economic, urban-architectural, physical-natural, legal and cultural aspects that condition the territory and the users who inhabit it. Its particularity lies in the limitations that the geographic and urban position of the study area can mean, located within the right-of-way of the railway and used, mainly, by custom and necessity in daily mobility.
Este proyecto es el producto del análisis efectuado en la calle Juana Barragán, tramo del Km. 0+000.00 al Km. 0+800.00 y su colindante espacio de las vías del ferrocarril, entre las calles 18 de marzo y José Manuel de Herrera. en Morelia, Michoacán, una zona que por años ha presentado un deterioro urbano y ambiental producto de la decadencia social y económica que asecha nuestro país; basta caminar unos metros para percatarse de la precariedad y desorden del lugar, sin embargo, existe un interés desarrollado en este proyecto, por la recuperación del espacio residual y el mejoramiento de la imagen urbana. Los resultados son sintetizados a modo de diagnóstico, abordando el concepto de recuperación de un espacio residual y rehabilitación de calle Juana Barragán para el mejoramiento de la imagen urbana, tema que fue inspirado por el interés de mejorar los espacios urbanos olvidados, por la concientización del desarrollo urbano entorno al peatón y sus espacios perdidos. La finalidad es determinar la viabilidad y requerimientos de una posible intervención urbana, comprendiendo los aspectos socio-económicos, urbano-arquitectónicos, físico-naturales, legales y culturales, que condicionan el territorio y a los usuarios que lo habitan. Su particularidad radica en las limitantes que puede significar la posición geográfica y urbana del área de estudio, ubicada dentro del derecho de vía del ferrocarril y usado, principalmente, por costumbre y necesidad en la movilidad cotidiana.
