Imagen urbana y el uso de las azoteas en el centro histórico de Morelia, México

Abstract

In the Federal Zone of Historical Monuments of the city of Morelia, we can observe various problems of alteration to the urban image; one of them is directly associated at the use of rooftops. In this research, we try to identify what are the uses of the rooftops, the materials implemented and how it tries to generate an integration in the context or, on the contrary, if this integration with the urban image is lacking. In the first instance, specific areas had to be selected with certain characteristics; based on this, we prepared survey files. The interpretation of the results obtained in the files is a fundamental part of the content and results of this investigation; where real examples of the uses of rooftops and the insertion of structures in the context are addressed. Thanks to the understanding of the results obtained, it can be commented that, in the absence of a more specific regulation regarding guidelines on the uses of rooftops, there are some cases where the invasion of the urban image with structures and / or constructions on rooftops it is irreversible; in other cases, there is a lack of integration or an attempt to do so; these reflections are taken up throughout this document and developed further.

En la zona Federal de Monumentos Históricos de la ciudad de Morelia, se observan diversos problemas de alteración a la imagen urbana; uno de ellos se asocia directamente al uso de las azoteas. En esta investigación, se trató de identificar cuáles son los usos de las azoteas, los materiales implementados y como se trata de generar una integración en el contexto o por lo contrario, si existe una carencia de esta integración con la imagen urbana. En primera instancia se tuvieron que seleccionar áreas específicas con ciertas características; con base a esto, se elaboraron fichas de levantamientos. La interpretación de los resultados obtenidos en las fichas, formó parte fundamental del contenido y resultados de esta investigación; en donde se abordan ejemplos sobre los usos de las azoteas y la inserción de estructuras en el contexto. Gracias a la comprensión de los resultados obtenidos, se puede comentar que, a falta de una reglamentación más específica con respecto a lineamientos sobre los usos de las azoteas, se encuentran algunos casos en donde la invasión a la imagen urbana con estructuras y/o construcciones sobre las azoteas es irreversible; en otros casos se observa una carencia en la integración o un intento de ella; estas reflexiones se retoman a lo largo de este documento, y se desarrollan más a fondo.
