Abstract

Natural history museums are scientific, cultural and educational institutions and the purpose is to disseminate knowledge about the universe, the earth and life. The purpose of creating such places is to reach people of all ages, educational levels and socioeconomic status. So the museum is a container and the architecture of the museum can be used as a tool to convey the message. The social situation reaffirms the hypothesis that the school is the engine of the visit, but once the school obligation is fulfilled or the higher education studies concluded, the museum disappears on the horizon of Mexicans. According to the study carried out by the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt), El Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, the Mexican society with basic and secondary education, are the ones that visit museums the least. The city of Morelia does not have museums of this nature, neither in Michoacán nor in neigh boring states, there is a need for this museum complex, therefore the Michoacán University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo through the coordination of scientific research requests a project, in order to seek, to generate interest and dissemination in society on the subject of Natural History, create wariness in the care of this area through spaces full of harmony and adaptation with the surrounding environment. Los museos de historia natural es una institución científica, cultural y educativa, cuyo propósito es divulgar conocimiento acerca del universo, la tierra y la vida. El propósito de la creación de dichos lugares es que llegase a las personas de todas las edades, nivel de estudios y nivel socioeconómico. Entonces el museo es contenedor y la arquitectura del museo puede ser utilizada como una herramienta para transmitir el mensaje. La situación social reafirma la hipótesis acerca de que la escuela es el motor de la visita, pero cumplida la obligación escolar concluida los estudios de educación superior, el museo desaparece el horizonte de los mexicanos. Según el estudio que realizo (Conacyt) El Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, la sociedad mexicana de nivel socioeconómico medio y bajo, con escolaridad básica y secundaria son las que menos visitan los museos. La ciudad de Morelia no cuenta con museos de este carácter ni en Michoacán ni en estados vecinos, existe la necesidad de este conjunto museístico, por ello la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo por medio de la coordinación de investigación científica solicitan un proyecto, con el de buscar generar interés y divulgación en la sociedad en el tema de la Historia natural, crear conciencia en el cuidado de dicha área mediante espacios llenos de armonía y adaptación con el medio circundante. En otra parte el predio se encuentra en el bosque Cuauhtémoc, uno de los pulmones de la ciudad, un espacio donde se puede hacer sin fin de actividades de carácter público.
