In the course of this thesis is intended to exploit the relationship between a gas star and its counterpart of the polytopic stellar system in order to study its global characteristics, that is, we want to study a polytrophic gas in hydrostatic equilibrium and a system of self-gravitating particles in a polytrophic stellar system, which obeys the same density function and similar stability properties as the star. First, it is shown how to construct a self-consistent model for a star composed of a polytrophic gas and for a stellar system, then the methods implemented to obtain the initial conditions are presented, then the equations that govern the gravitational dynamics and hydrodynamics of these systems. He describes the approximations that must be made, the physical foundations in which support our approximations and their numerical implementation through N-body methods. The techniques used to perform the integration of the equations that describe the evolution of the system. We study everything concerning the polytopic systems in equilibrium by means of an analysis of the parameter space. At least, the non-equilibrium situations are studied, such as isothermal collapse and the oscillations of polytopic systems.
