Reciclaje de la antigua fábrica La Providencia en Uruapan, Michoacán

Abstract

Given the need to contribute to preserve the cultural heritage of the municipality of Uruapan, which is being affected by abandonment of the historical testimonies that give identity to the city and preserve the history, a proposal for the rescue and conservation of the factory La Providencia, which is in disuse, is proposed. A historical analysis of both the building and the city was carried out, also studying references on the subject of the rehabilitation of buildings with industrial heritage. A statistical study of the population to be served was carried out, taking into account the main beneficiaries of the services of the proposed new space. A study of the climatic conditions and urban aspects, equipment, services and a graphic analysis of urban aspects was also carried out. An architectural program and its probable operation of the different proposed spaces derived from the social analysis was carried out in order to meet the needs of the users. As a result, we obtained the architectural and executive project for the construction of a cultural space with the capacity to host different types of social and cultural events, as well as spaces for coexistence, recreation and different activities generating a social impact within the population preserving and reusing a historic building that gives great value to the city of Uruapan.

Ante la necesidad de contribuir a preservar el patrimonio cultural del municipio de Uruapan que está siendo afectado por el abandono de los testimonios históricos que le dan identidad a la ciudad y preservan la historia, se plantea una propuesta para el rescate y conservación de la fábrica La Providencia la cual se encuentra en desuso. Se realizó un análisis histórico tanto del inmueble como de la ciudad estudiando también referentes del tema de la rehabilitación de edificios con patrimonio industrial. Se elaboró un estudio estadístico de la población a atender, tomando en cuenta a los principales beneficiarios de los servicios del nuevo espacio propuesto. También se llevó a cabo un estudio de las condiciones climáticas y de los aspectos urbanos, el equipamiento, servicios y un análisis gráfico de aspectos urbanos. Se realizó un programa arquitectónico y su probable funcionamiento de los diferentes espacios propuestos derivados del análisis social con el que se pretende cubrir las necesidades de los usuarios. Como resultado se obtuvo el proyecto arquitectónico y ejecutivo para la construcción de un espacio cultural con capacidad para albergar diferentes tipos de eventos sociales y culturales, así como también espacios para convivencia, recreación y diferentes actividades generando un impacto social dentro de la población preservando y reutilizando un inmueble histórico que le da gran valor a la ciudad de Uruapan.
