In this thesis, were studied the rheological properties of Langmuir monolayers composed of DPPC / POPC at different concentration ratios, formed on a water-air interface. The studies were conducted by compression and shear deformations using a Langmuir trough and a magnetic needle interfacial shear rheometer respectively. In shear compression the DPPC/POPC membranes showed solid-like behavior. In shear rheology, DPPC membranes behave as a viscoelastic gel and POPC membranes as a Newtonian fluid. Membranes with DPPC/POPC presented different behaviors, including a fluid like behavior in membranes with 15 % of POPC and a solid-like behavior in membranes with 8 and 10 % of POPC.
