Para adentrarnos al asunto consistente en la necesidad del pensamiento filosófico en educación básica, partiremos de la siguiente interrogante: ¿qué queremos realizar en nuestra investigación? El tema que nos ocupa es reflexionar, en un primer momento, sobre la relevancia de mejorar el pensamiento desde edades infantiles; en un segundo momento, tratar de llevar dichas reflexiones al terreno de la práctica pedagógica. La necesidad de una filosofía para los niveles básicos requiere considerar que en la actualidad existe en el mundo la tendencia a lo modernista (a lo nuevo, a lo digitalizado, a lo globalizado...) en términos genéricos, lo que involucra cuestiones de economía, política, ciencia, educación, etc. Por el lado específico de la educación, ésta parece compartir con un mundo en vías de globalización experiencias más que positivas de cuestionabilidad. Comparte muy posiblemente en algún o muchos sentidos con los cinco continentes lo que se ha denominado el fracaso escolar. 1 Éste, entre otras consideraciones, se debe al hecho de que el alumno no ha tenido las circunstancias favorables para pensar por sí mismo, para razonar Adecuadamente.
