Aproximación al concepto de la experiencia interna del tiempo en San Agustín y Henri Bergson

Abstract

This research aims to be an approach to the concept of internal experience of time viewed from two different positions, first raised by the Christian philosopher St. Augustine and the second by the French philosopher Henri Bergson. So we start with the question of the meaning of the "lived time" which is presented as a ratio of the body-mind duality through calls faculties of the soul. Moreover, the fact our attention to the inner experience of time is not intended to completely exclude the idea of objective time and physical reality, and that this reality is the historical budget for understanding internal and subjective reality. To answer the question, we developed this research in three chapters. The first briefly introduces us to the classical conception of time in Plato, Aristotle and Plotinus; pose a fundamental paradox for internal experience of time. The second chapter is dedicated exclusively to Christian philosopher, presenting him a first insight into the inner experience of time that tends towards the salvation of the individual soul. And finally, a third chapter Bergson raises a different way of conceiving this experience, thinking no longer in the salvation of the soul, but affirming human freedom.

El presente trabajo de investigación pretende ser un acercamiento al concepto de la vivencia interna del tiempo vista desde dos posiciones distintas, la primera planteada por el filósofo cristiano San Agustín y la segunda por el filósofo francés Henri Bergson. Para ello partimos de la pregunta por el sentido del llamado “tiempo vivido”, el cual se nos presenta como una relación de la dualidad cuerpo-espíritu a través de las llamadas facultades del alma. Por otra parte, el hecho de centrar nuestra atención en la vivencia interna del tiempo, no pretende excluir totalmente la idea del tiempo objetivo y su realidad física, ya que dicha realidad es el presupuesto histórico para la comprensión de una realidad interna y subjetiva. Para responder a la cuestión, desarrollamos esta investigación en tres capítulos. El primero nos introduce brevemente en la concepción clásica del tiempo en Platón, Aristóteles y Plotino; planteando una paradoja fundamental para la vivencia interna del tiempo. El segundo capítulo lo dedicamos exclusivamente al filósofo cristiano, presentando con él una primera visión de la vivencia interna del tiempo que tiende hacia la salvación del alma individual. Y finalmente, un tercer capítulo dedicado a Bergson plantea una forma distinta de concebir dicha vivencia, pensando no ya en la salvación del alma sino afirmando la libertad humana.
