La actualidad del argumento ontológico de San Anselmo

Abstract

The ontological argument, or Proslogion argument is a philosophical problem, conceptualized in the eleventh century by the philosopher St. Anselm of Canterbury. In it he exposed a demonstration of the existence of God under the concept "That greater than which nothing can be thought." Subsequently, in response to this Anselmian argument it happens a replica, on behalf of the foolish, who says under the sentence "There is no God". The Benedictine monk Gaunilón, represents the paradigm of medieval fool, however, it argues that this approach achieves even transcend the XXI century. In contemporary philosophy, the thesis St. Anselm continues promoting philosophical reflection, since it has transcendental elements from its formulation, in a priori character and still denoting universal validity. This medieval philosophy offers a response to meaninglessness and nihilism of postmodernism. The arguments deducted from the Archbishop of Canterbury brandish valid for contemporary foolish arguments. News that is justified under various interpretive modes, yielding results in the fusion of horizons, Gadamer hermeneutical principle. God as perfect and fully inaseguible principle for human understanding. Thus it holds both understanding reality as the reality outside it. Therefore St. Anselm opens a philosophical problem and will continue to impact reverberated throughout the history of philosophy, maintaining, present to the problem of God.

El argumento ontológico, o argumento del Proslogion, es un problema filosófico, conceptualizado en el siglo XI, por el filósofo San Anselmo de Canterbury. En él se expone una demostración acerca de la existencia de Dios bajo el concepto “Aquello mayor que lo cual nada pueda pensarse”. Posteriormente, en respuesta a esta argumentación anselmiana, acontece una réplica, en nombre del insensato, quién afirma bajo la sentencia “No hay Dios”. El monje benedictino Gaunilón, representa el paradigma del insensato medieval, sin embargo, se sostiene que esta postura logra trascender aún en el siglo XXI. En la filosofía contemporánea, la tesis de San Anselmo sigue propiciando la reflexión filosófica, puesto que posee elementos trascendentes desde su formulación, es decir, su carácter a priori e universal siguen denotando vigencia. Esta filosofía medieval nos ofrece una respuesta al sinsentido y nihilismo propio de la posmodernidad. Los argumentos deducidos del arzobispo de Canterbury esgrimen argumentos válidos para el insensato contemporáneo. Una actualidad que se justifica bajo diversos modos interpretativos, arrojando como resultado la fusión de horizontes, principio de la hermenéutica gadameriana. Por otro lado, el racionalismo e idealismo de San Anselmo, muestra por sí mismo, un argumento del cual se deduce todo lo existente. Dios como principio perfecto e inasequible plenamente para el entendimiento humano. De este modo sostiene la realidad tanto del entendimiento como la realidad exterior a éste. Por lo tanto, San Anselmo inaugura un problema filosófico que repercutió y seguirá repercutiendo a lo largo de la historia de la filosofía, manteniendo así, la actualidad hacia el problema de Dios.
