La gran virtud de la imaginación dinámica vertical. Merleau-Ponty y Bachelard

Abstract

This work is a comment and a translation of the French text “La grande vertu de l’imagination dynamique vertical” (Merleau-Ponty et Bachelard), which was written by Étienne Bimbenet and is in his book Après Merleau-Ponty. Études sur la feconditée d’une pensée. The comment aims to present the life of the three philosophers: Étienne Bimbenet, Maurice-Merleau-Ponty and Gaston Bachelard. It also shows why the translation of the text is important and it talks about the criteria that was used to do it. After that, the reader will find Bimenet’s text in Spanish, that is about the possibility of finding an ethic dimension in Merleau-Ponty’s wok, with the help of Bachelard and taking into account painting, poetry and the importance of imagination in that labour.

El presente trabajo es una traducción comentada del texto en francés titulado “La grande vertu de l’imagination dynamique verticale” (Merleau-Ponty et Bachelard) que forma parte del libro del filósofo francés Étienne Bimbenet, Après Merleau-Ponty. Études sur la feconditée d’une pensée. El comentario aborda la vida y obra de los tres filósofos: Étienne Bimbenet, Maurice Merleau-Ponty y Gaston Bachelard. Asimismo, se presenta por qué es importante la traducción del texto y se habla sobre los criterios y procedimientos que fueron útiles para realizarla. Posteriormente, se presenta el texto de Bimbenet en español, que trata sobre la posibilidad de desplegar una ética en Merleau-Ponty con la ayuda de Bachelard, partiendo de actividades como la pintura y la poesía y resaltando la importancia que tiene la imaginación en dicho quehacer.
