Abstract

The elaboration of the different Catalogs that have been carried out from this degree route in the Faculty of History of Our Michoacán University, has undoubtedly allowed several graduates and other researchers, historians and students to provide their information required for the preparation of different works. ; Currently, a greater number of graduates formalize our professional work through this means of archival description, whose purpose is to serve as an academic argument to obtain the university degree of Bachelor of History; I hope that the contribution of this work can be a useful tool for researchers. The Catalog is an Archival Description instrument that is prepared at the conclusion of the inventory, and contains detailed and systematized information on the files that make up the documents that make up a documentary series on a specific collection; the more information about the document exists in the catalogue, the greater its usefulness for the researcher. The Documentary Catalog constitutes today one of the sources of information that facilitates the archivist as well as the user, the temporal and spatial location of the collections that make up the collection and more quickly locate the files deposited in the archive. La elaboración de los distintos Catálogos que se han realizado desde esta vía de titulación en la Facultad de Historia de Nuestra Universidad Michoacana, ha permitido sin duda, a varios titularse y a otros investigadores e historiadores y estudiantes facilitar su información requerida para la elaboración de distintos trabajos; actualmente un mayor número de egresados formalizamos nuestro que hacer profesional a través de este medio de descripción archivística, el cual tiene como fin la función de servir como argumento académico para poder obtener el grado universitario de Licenciado en Historia; espero que la aportación del presente trabajo, pueda ser una herramienta útil para los investigadores. El Catálogo es un instrumento de Descripción Archivística que se elabora al concluir el inventario, y contiene una información detallada y sistematizada de los expedientes que integran los documentos que conforma una serie documental sobre un fondo determinado; cuanto más información acerca del documento exista en el catálogo, mayor será la utilidad de éste para el investigador. El Catálogo Documental constituye hoy en día una de las fuentes de información que facilita al archivista como al usuario, la localización temporal y espacial de los fondos que conforman el acervo y localizar con mayor rapidez los expedientes depositados en el archivo. La identificación, clasificación y catalogación de la documentación generada por las diversas instituciones públicas y depositadas en archivos históricos permiten a los investigadores la información indispensable para explicar el devenir de la sociedad.
