Impacto de la ley Simpson-Rodino en la migración de Acuitzio, Michoacán a los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica 1986-2004

Abstract

Michoacan migration to the United States of North America is of historical importance, since due to the lack of jobs and a culture that has been consolidated over several decades, migrants have left our country for many years to try to improve their living conditions, since in Michoacán and their country of origin there are few opportunities, due to this, said state has a migratory tradition that dates from the last quarter of the 19th century and is still valid today. The fundamental purpose of this work is to investigate specifically how the migrants from Acuitzio, Michoacán have arrived and settled in the neighboring country to the north, thanks to the social networks that have been woven during the 20th century. It will inquire about the phenomena or factors that have influenced this migration, reasons for their displacement, regions or cities in the United States where they settle, work activities they perform, the emergence of organizations in support of migrants and finally the way in which Such migrants have changed their way of life, at the same time that their region or locality of origin has also been transformed.

La migración de michoacanos a los estados Unidos de Norteamérica tiene una importancia histórica, ya que debido a la falta de empleos y a una cultura que se ha consolidado a través de varias décadas, los migrantes han salido de nuestro país desde hace muchos años para tratar de mejorar sus condiciones de vida, ya que en Michoacán y su país de origen son escasas las oportunidades, debido a ello dicho estado tiene una tradición migratoria que data desde el último cuarto del siglo XIX y cobra vigencia actualmente. Este trabajo tiene como finalidad fundamental investigar de manera específica como los migrantes originarios de Acuitzio, Michoacán han llegado y establecido en el país vecino del norte, gracias a las redes sociales que se han ido tejiendo durante el siglo XX. Se indagará sobre los fenómenos o factores que han influido para dicha migración, motivos de su desplazamiento, regiones o ciudades de Estados Unidos donde se establecen, actividades de trabajo que desempeñan, el surgimiento de organizaciones en apoyo al migrante y por último la manera en que tales migrantes han cambiado su forma de vida, al mismo tiempo que también se transforma su región o localidad de origen.
