Women's suffrage began in Europe in the second half of the 19th century, it was a movement carried out by educated upper-class women. Its main demand was to claim political rights for women, based on the French Revolution and the ideas of the Enlightenment as well as the works A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, written by Mary Wolltonecraft, and The Slavery of Women, by John Stuart Mill, inspired by the ideas of the French Revolution. In the case of Mexico, the first woman who demanded the right to vote for women was Laurana Wright de Kleinhans between 1884 and 1887. There were other women who also demanded this right, such as Cristina Farfán, Concepción Gimeno and Laura Méndez de Cuenca, among others, in various news media of the time. The demand was also seen in the demonstrations carried out during and against the Porfiriato by the doctors Matilde Montoya, Guadalupe Sánchez, Columba Rivera and Soledad Régules and the lawyers María Sandoval de Zarco and Josefina Arce. Women's organizations such as Las hijas de Cuauhtémoc, Las admireras de Juárez, Las hijas de Anahuac and the Sociedad protectora de la mujer were also formed, with the same objective as the previous women. In the Mexican Revolution, women played a very important role, they supported their relatives by performing different activities, as wives, companions, accomplices and not only this, but they also had to fight against the enemy; dedicating themselves to exchanging and smuggling information, weapons, supplies and park, among others. Among these women we find Carmen Alanís, Ramona Flores, Limbania Fernández, Carmen Amalia Flores, Juana Belén Gutiérrez de Mendoza and Dolores Giménez y Muro.
El sufragio femenino inició en Europa en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, fue un fue un movimiento realizado por mujeres educadas de clase alta. Su principal demanda fue reclamar los derechos políticos para las mujeres, tomando como base la Revolución Francesa y las ideas de la Ilustración así como las obras Vindicación de los derechos de la mujer, escrita por Mary Wolltonecraft, y La esclavitud de la mujer, de John Stuart Mill, inspiradas en las ideas de la Revolución Francesa. Para el caso de México la primera mujer que demandó el derecho al voto femenino fue Laurana Wright de Kleinhans entre 1884 y 1887. Hubo otras mujeres que también reclamaron este derecho como fue Cristina Farfán, Concepción Gimeno y Laura Méndez de Cuenca, entre otras, en diferentes medios informativos de de época. La demanda también se dejó ver en las manifestaciones realizadas durante y en contra del porfiriato por las doctoras Matilde Montoya, Guadalupe Sánchez, Columba Rivera y Soledad Régules y de las abogadas María Sandoval de Zarco y Josefina Arce. También se formaron organizaciones femeniles como Las hijas de Cuauhtémoc, Las admiradoras de Juárez, Las hijas de Anáhuac y la Sociedad protectora de la mujer, con el mismo objetivo que las mujeres anteriores. En la Revolución Mexicana las mujeres tuvieron un papel muy importante, apoyaron a sus familiares desenvolviéndose en diferentes actividades, como esposas, compañeras, cómplices y no solo esto, sino que tuvieron que luchar contra el enemigo; dedicándose a intercambiar y contrabandear información, armas, vituallas y parque, entre otras. Entre estas mujeres encontramos a Carmen Alanís, Ramona Flores, Limbania Fernández, Carmen Amalia Flores, Juana Belén Gutiérrez de Mendoza y Dolores Giménez y Muro.
