Abstract

In order to better understand and understand the importance that archives have today and the role they have played throughout history as repositories of said historical memory, it is necessary to ask ourselves: What is an archive? “It is one or more sets of documents accumulated in a natural process by a person or institution, respecting the order in which they were generated to serve as testimony and a source of information to the person or institutions that produced it, to citizens or to serve as a source of information. source of history. As is well known, the raison d'être of an archive is the preservation of the documentary memory of an institution, since the documents require special conditions and adequate spaces for the material conservation of all documentation belonging to a nation, region, community, locality or institution, and that these archives are open and that they are simultaneously consulted by researchers and the general public. With this objective and with the purpose of obtaining the Bachelor's Degree in History, I have decided to prepare a Documentary Catalog on one of the important documentary series that are protected and guarded in the General and Historical Archive of the Executive Power of Michoacán (AGHPEM); where we will focus on the Series: Hijuelas of the District of Pátzcuaro; belonging to the Fund: Secretary of Government, Section: Government, covering the years from 1869 to 1928 corresponding to Books 3 and 4.

Para poder entender y comprender mejor la importancia que tienen hoy en día los archivos y del papel que han jugado durante el transcurso de la historia como repositorios de dicha memoria histórica, es preciso preguntarnos ¿Qué es un archivo? “es uno o más conjuntos de documentos acumulados en un proceso natural por una persona o institución, respetando el orden en que fueron generados para servir de testimonio y fuente de información a la persona o instituciones que lo produjeron, a los ciudadanos o para servir de fuente de la historia. Como es bien sabido, la razón de ser de un archivo es la preservación de la memoria documental de una institución, ya que los documentos requieren de condiciones especiales y espacios adecuados para la conservación material de toda documentación perteneciente a una nación, región, comunidad, localidad o institución, y que dichos archivos estén abiertos y que a la vez sean consultados por los investigadores y el público en general. Con dicho objetivo y con el propósito de obtener el Título de Licenciado en Historia, he decidido elaborar un Catálogo Documental sobre una de las series documentales importantes que se resguardan y custodian en el Archivo General e Histórico del Poder Ejecutivo de Michoacán (AGHPEM); donde nos enfocaremos en la Serie: Hijuelas del Distrito de Pátzcuaro; perteneciente al Fondo: Secretaría de Gobierno, Sección: Gobernación, abarcando los años de 1869 a 1928 correspondientes a los Libros 3 y 4.
