La tradición de Noche Muertos en Janitzio, Michoacán: entre el turismo y la patrimonialización

Abstract

The tradition of Night of the Dead in Mexico has been a focus of study from sociology, history and anthropology. These studies, together with the transformation of culture over time, have shown different perspectives of knowledge about the subject. Particularly in the institutionalization of the practice by the state with the aim of safeguarding the tradition. This research, proposes to make a study related to cultural change processes, linked to tourism and patrimonialization occurred during the XXI century of the celebration of the Night of the Dead on the island of Janitzio. Since the historical journey of this practice has been part of the cultural values that are assigned to the celebration, such as "Mexicanness" and nationalism, which are nourished by this celebration to create emblems that society adopts as own.

La tradición de Noche de Muertos en México ha sido foco de estudio desde la sociología, la historian y la antropología. Estos estudios, aunados a la transformación de la cultura a través del tiempo, han mostrado distintas perspectivas del conocimiento sobre tema. Particularmente en la institucionalización de la práctica por parte del estado con el objetivo de salvaguardar la tradición. Esta investigación, propone hacer un estudio relacionado con procesos de cambio cultural, vinculados al turismo y patrimonialización ocurrida durante el siglo XXI de la celebración de la Noche de Muertos en la isla de Janitzio. Ya que en el recorrido histórico de esta práctica se han ido conformado parte de los valores culturales que se asignan a la celebración, como son la mexicanidad y al nacionalismo, mismos que se nutren de dicha celebración para crear emblemas que la sociedad adopte como propios.
