The main interest of this work is to explain how the material improvements were carried out and what scope they had in terms of the common benefit, as well as how to influenced the introduction of certain advances adapted to the Urban daily life so that the society Integrate into a new dynamic marked by technological advances and new needs. Public works as a category or service of Government have constituted a determining factor in the development of urban spaces. This project seeks to analyse the factors that made possible the transformation of urban spaces in Morelia, following the implementation of public works financed by both the Government and individuals between 1892 and 1910. This work also responds to a concern to let glimpse the problems of social nature that were firmly linked to the implementation of these public works because their distribution and administrative organization, as well as their infrastructures That determined forms and performances, in the concrete case of the city of Morelia was materialized with the paving of streets, the casing of the water, the electrical lighting, transport, etc.
El interés principal de este trabajo es explicar cómo se llevaron a cabo las mejoras materiales y qué alcance tuvieron en términos del beneficio común, además cómo influyó la introducción de ciertos adelantos adaptados a la cotidianidad urbana a fin de que la sociedad se integrara a una nueva dinámica marcada por los avances tecnológicos y las nuevas necesidades. Las obras públicas como categoría o servicio de gobierno han constituido un factor determinante en el desarrollo de los espacios urbanos. Con este proyecto se busca analizar los factores que hicieron posible la transformación de los espacios urbanos en Morelia, a raíz de la implementación de obras públicas financiadas tanto por el gobierno como por particulares entre 1892 y 1910. Este trabajo responde también a una inquietud por dejar entrever los problemas de índole social que estuvieron firmemente ligados a la implementación de estas obras públicas pues su distribución y organización administrativa, así como sus infraestructuras determinaron formas y funcionamientos, en el caso concreto de la ciudad de Morelia, esto se materializó con la pavimentación de calles, el entubado del agua, el alumbrado eléctrico, transporte, etc.
