De vicios y otro poco: fiestas y diversiones en Valladolid de Michoacán 1765-1810

Abstract

From the Bourbon Reforms in the eighteenth century, there emerged great changes and ideas as the illustration in Spain and as immediate consequence to the American colonies, changes that had an impact on the way of living of the population, including the form of entertainment as were the bullfights, the theater, the games banned or even the consumption of alcohol; same that caused difficulties for the society. The above is intended to solve the following research questions why were these diversions carried out if they provoked various problems between the same population? itself that is answered through exploration in bibliographic sources as well as first-hand as they are archival documents. The main objective of this study is to know in what way they carried out the festivities and entertainment in Valladolid of Michoacan by the different social sectors, and whether there was a relaxation on the part of the latter.

A partir de las Reformas Borbónicas en el siglo XVIII, surgieron grandes cambios e ideas como la ilustración en España y como consecuencia inmediata a las colonias americanas, cambios que repercutieron en la forma de vivir de la población, incluyendo la forma de entretenimiento como lo fueron las corridas de toros, el teatro, los juegos prohibidos o incluso el consumo de bebidas embriagantes; mismos que causaba dificultades para la sociedad. A través de lo anterior se pretende resolver las siguientes preguntas de investigación ¿por qué se llevaban a cabo estas diversiones si provocaban diversas problemáticas entre la misma población? misma que se responde a través de la exploración en fuentes bibliográficas, así como de primera mano como lo son documentos de archivo. El objetivo principal de este estudio es conocer de qué manera se llevaban a cabo las fiestas y entretenimiento en Valladolid de Michoacán por los distintos sectores sociales, y saber si existió un relajamiento por parte de éstos.
