Paracho, de pueblo sujeto a cabecera jurisdiccional: 1700-1825

Abstract

The objective of this research work is to approach from the regional perspective, the demographic and economic evolution of the indigenous municipality of Paracho, belonging to the state of Michoacán, Mexico, during the period from 1700 to 1825. This paper states that Paracho, from its origins until the mid-eighteenth century, had an important development in the economic and demographic, which gradually transformed it into a republic of Indians, this influenced so that later it remained as seat of government during the period from 1808 to 1825, stage in the that Mexico maintains the struggle for its independence and that in Paracho constitutional town councils are formed. The work is based on oral sources and with documents extracted from the Morelia Historic Municipal Archive, Casa Morelos Archive and the documentary collection of the Institute of Historical Research, as well as specialized works on the municipality.

El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación es abordar desde la perspectiva regional, la evolución demográfica y económica del pueblo indígena de Paracho, perteneciente a la provincia de Michoacán, durante el periodo de 1700 hasta 1825. Este trabajo plantea que Paracho, desde sus orígenes hasta mediados del siglo XVIII, tuvo un importante desarrollo en el ámbito económico y demográfico, lo que gradualmente lo transformó en república de indios, esto influyó para que posteriormente se mantuviera como sede de gobierno durante el periodo de 1808 hasta 1825, etapa en la que México mantiene la lucha por su independencia y en la que en Paracho se conforman ayuntamientos constitucionales. El trabajo se encuentra sustentado en fuentes orales y con documentos extraídos del Archivo Municipal de Morelia, Archivo Histórico Casa Morelos y el acervo documental del Instituto de Investigaciones Históricas de la UMSNH, además de trabajos bibliográficos sobre el municipio.
