The present investigation shows a general visión about the education field in the independent Mexico for the years 1821-1877. All of this, through four educational models that coexisted during the temporality, in order to analyse and to compare the role that mexican woman played in each of the schools which she accessed, to get elementary instruction. Therewith it addresses issues corresponding to the struggle between the State and the Church, that aroused after the arrival of the liberalism in this country. Also, how these institutions saw in the woman a kind of path to implant and to keep their power and ideology on Mexico convulsed in economic, political and social conflicts that remained as an heritage from the struggles for its Independence. Thereby, mexican woman started to attract the attention of the relevant minds in the time, making increasingly obvious the need of her education as a main trainer of citizens and believers. Therewith, it took place the first steps in order to receive an instruction for her development in the social sphere on a par with her ‘must be’ at home. Similarly, it presents more specifically how the instruction was received for the little girls that atended catholic schools in Morelia.
La presente investigación muestra una visión general sobre el campo educativo en el México independiente en los años 1821-1877. Todo esto a través de cuatro modelos educativos que coexistieron durante la temporalidad, con la finalidad de analizar y comparar el papel que la mujer mexicana jugó en cada una de las escuelas a la que tuvo acceso para obtener instrucción elemental. Con esto, se abordan temas correspondientes a la pugna entre el Estado y la Iglesia que se suscitaron después de la llegada del liberalismo a este país. Además, cómo estas instituciones vieron en la mujer una vía para implantar y mantener su poder e ideología en un México convulso en conflictos económicos, políticos y sociales que quedaron como herencia de los conflictos por su independencia. Así, la mujer mexicana comenzó a atraer la atención de las mentes relevantes de la época, haciendo más que evidente la necesidad de su educación como eje formativo de ciudadanos y creyentes. Con esto, tuvieron logar los primeros pasos para recibir instrucción para su desarrollo en el plano social a la par de su “deber ser” en el hogar. Asimismo, presenta de manera específica cómo fue la instrucción recibida por las niñas que asistían a las escuelas católicas en Morelia.
