El pentathlón deportivo militarizado universitario y su influencia en la juventud michoacana

Abstract

This research reviews the influence that the Pentathlón Deportivo Militarizado Universitario gave to Mexican youth after its foundation in Mexico City thanks to the initiative of Jorge Jiménez Cantú and the support of Gustavo Baz Prada in 1938 at the time of administration of Lázaro Cárdenas. Thus showing the development of this institution to focus on the object of study, the youth of Michoacán and the outcome of applying the ideals of the institution from the governorship of Agustín Arriaga Rivera until the end of the 90s. This research was developed based on the bibliographic and hemerographic consultation corresponding to the aforementioned period, to describe the context and generalities of the institution. Oral history was also used, interviewing important figures, giving their testimony, for the case of the pentathleta youth of Michoacán.

En esta investigación se revisa la influencia que el Pentathlón Deportivo Militarizado Universitario le brindó a la juventud mexicana tras su fundación en la Ciudad de México gracias a la iniciativa de Jorge Jiménez Cantú y al apoyo de Gustavo Baz Prada en el año 1938 en la época de administración de Lázaro Cárdenas. Mostrando con ello el desarrollo de esta institución para así centrarse en el objeto de estudio, la juventud de Michoacán y el desenlace de aplicar los ideales de la institución desde la gubernatura de Agustín Arriaga Rivera hasta finales de los años 90s. Esta investigación se desarrolló en base a la consulta bibliográfica y hemerográfica correspondiente la época mencionada, para describir el contexto y las generalidades de la institución. También se hizo uso de la historia oral, entrevistando personajes importantes, aportando su testimonio, para el caso de la juventud pentathleta de Michoacán.
