Mexican foreign trade has been reduced in recent years by the global economic problems, however in some sectors Mexico can rebound and increase its exports. In Mexico as in the whole world, oil is the most important input par excellence for its great number of uses and derivatives that are obtained from it; Mexico can take advantage of the exports of the same, only as far as raw material is concerned since there are no refineries in our country, therefore the crude is exported to refine it in another country, usually the United States, and returns to our country after the process of refinery, of course, more expensive, and all that remains in another country, nevertheless with the construction of a national refinery that would surely originate in addition to jobs and much economic spillage when exporting the already refined oil to other countries, that way all the profits would remain in our country increasing the level of national economy, and not that of another country. Another advantage would be the considerable saving of taxes on imports and exports for these enormous quantities of raw material sent to refine the United States, as well as the multi-billion dollar saving of the cost of its transportation abroad. In agricultural exports, the United States is again ranked first because of the high quality of American products and the high level of support the government provides to US producers. Contrary to what was thought the United States surpasses Mexico in this sector, although total agricultural production is possibly higher in our country, it is exported less because of lack of information from the farmers, as well as the lack of support of the government.
