This investigation focuses the built religious heritage in the historic center of Morelia, displayed in a complex dynamic in which the tourism factor is heavily mixed with local customs and religious uses, establishing as units of analysis the sixteen historic temples classified as historical monuments, these studied in the three periods most important: Semana Santa , December and summer. The methodology used consisted of a state of the art review, from which it was possible to analyze the situation in Morelia, finding a historical center whose diagnosis revealed a predominant religious use but not exclusive, resulting two buildings with the highest number of visitors, Sanctuary of Guadalupe and metropolitan Cathedral, this being a precursor to arrive, from arguments presented by the experts as well as field work, a conceptual proposal of management and administration of the highest example of religious heritage in this city: the cathedral.
La presente investigación aborda el patrimonio religioso edificado en el centro histórico de la ciudad de Morelia, visualizado en una dinámica compleja en la que el factor turismo está fuertemente mezclado con usos religiosos y costumbres locales, estableciéndose como unidades de análisis los dieciséis templos históricos catalogados como monumentos históricos estudiados en las tres épocas de mayor relevancia religiosa y turística: Semana Santa, Diciembre y verano. La metodología usada consistió en una revisión estado del arte, a partir del cual se pudo para analizar la situación moreliana, encontrando un centro histórico cuyo diagnóstico revela un uso religioso preponderante pero no excluyente, resultando dos inmuebles con mayor número de visitantes, Santuario de Guadalupe y Catedral metropolitana, siendo este un antecedente para llegar, a partir de lo expuesto por los expertos así como del trabajo de campo, a una propuesta conceptual de manejo y gestión del máximo ejemplo de patrimonio religioso en esta ciudad michoacana: su catedral.
