Technological development has allowed us to carry out implementations of equipment or prototypes that support the teaching, dissemination and self-learning. This paper implementing a computer vision system allowing the identification of objects by means of color, which is outfitted with a prototype of an autonomous mobile robot, resulting in a service robot. The task for the robot is to search and allocate an object of a defined color, make the shift to him and take it with tweezers. Control system PID (Proportional, Integral, Derivative) is used to control the speed of motors available on the robot, so that can perform the correct offset at the object. The vision system consists of a camera, which senses the environment, this information is issued to a processing unit (microcomputer PCB Rapsberry Pi), which use computer vision techniques and libraries OpenCV, if the object has the desired color and shape. There is a mechanism of communication between the microcomputer and the Arduino development board, USB port or serial port emulation, which allow it to send a reference value to the control system of the motors that move the robot. The robot also has an infrared distance sensor that measures the distance to an object, at which the mechanism that manipulates the clamp makes possible to take or capture the object. The phases of design and assembly of the prototype can be divided into 3 main categories: electronic circuitry, physical structure and programming. We accomplished the task successfully, which is demonstrated in the experimental part of this work
