In recent years, our planet has been affected by greenhouse gas emissions generated by the use of fossil fuels. One possible solution is the use of clean, renewable and cheap energies, an example of which is hydrogen. This thesis is focused on the study of the evaluation of hydrogen generation, from distilled water as hydrogen source, in Al+M1+M2 alloys (M1= Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn and M2= Ga, Li and C). The main objective is to reduce the particle size of the alloys to obtain an increase in the surface area and thereby achieve greater reactivity of the material in the hydrogen generation reaction. Low energy mechanical grinding (simple and economical method) was implemented for the synthesis of the alloys, which were characterized by XRD and SEM-EDS techniques, in order to identify their structural and chemical properties. The inverted cylinder method was used to measure the hydrogen generation reaction with simple contact between the alloys and distilled water, and with the additives NaOH, NaCl, KCl and NaBH4. The mechanical alloy Al+M1+M2 (M1= Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn and M2= Ga, Li and C) was obtained in less than 60 hours. A generation of 371 mL of H2 was achieved with the intermetallic Al5Fe2, 200 mL of H2 with (AlNi+6%Fe)95%-(Ga)5% wt., and 82 mL of H2 with Zn74Al22Cu2%wt. The additives that improve the H2 generation reaction were NaOH and NaBH4, achieving induction times of less than 1 min in the H2 generation reaction with the simple contact between the alloys and the water.
