Abstract

This doctoral thesis focuses on an interpretation of the unity of the real, grounded in a comprehensive bibliographic analysis of the works of Baruch Spinoza and Xavier Zubiri. Both philosophers delved into the concepts of the material and the divine with the aim of comprehending the metaphysical structure of God and real entities, as well as the interconnection and reciprocity of these principles to establish an intramundane relationship between the material and the divine. From this perspective, we examine the linkage of these principles with the purpose of recognizing the presence of divine reality in all things. Our work also delves into Spinoza's influence on Zubiri's philosophy, enabling a comparative study of their works and the formulation of the notion of the internal unity of reality. We highlight, furthermore, the similarities and differences between these authors in their reflections on the relationship between substance and substantiality, the cosmos and the world, as well as pantheism and panentheism. Consequently, our hypothesis asserts that Zubiri's philosophy represents a contemporary reconfiguration of Spinoza's thought, exploring the unity of the real from a perspective that seamlessly integrates divine and material richness. This thesis aspires to contribute to the development of contemporary philosophy, both within specialized analyses of each of these authors' works and in themes addressing fundamental questions concerning the nature of God, matter, and the relationship between the divine and the material.

Esta tesis doctoral se centra en una interpretación de la unidad de lo real, basándose en un análisis bibliográfico de las obras de Baruj Spinoza y Xavier Zubiri. Ambos filósofos exploraron los conceptos de lo material y lo divino con el fin de comprender la estructura metafísica de Dios y las cosas reales, así como la interconexión y la reciprocidad de estos principios para establecer una relación intramundana entre lo material y lo divino. A partir de este enfoque, examinamos la vinculación de estos principios con el propósito de reconocer la presencia de la realidad divina en todas las cosas. Nuestro trabajo también se adentra en la influencia de Spinoza en la filosofía de Zubiri, lo que permite un estudio comparativo de sus obras y la formulación de la noción de la unidad interna de la realidad. Destacamos, además, las similitudes y diferencias entre estos autores en la reflexión sobre la relación entre sustancia y sustantividad, cosmos y mundo, panteísmo y panenteísmo. En consecuencia, nuestra hipótesis sostiene que la filosofía de Zubiri representa una actualización del pensamiento Spinoza, explorando la unidad de lo real desde una perspectiva que integra la riqueza divina y material. Esta tesis pretender contribuir al desarrolla de la filosofía contemporánea, tanto en los estudios especializados de cada uno de estos autores como en las temáticas que abordan cuestiones fundamentales con la naturaleza de Dios, la materia y la relación entre lo divino y lo material.
