Competitividad turística de un destino internacional: el caso de la región lacustre de Michoacán en el 2022

Abstract

The research presented in this document measures the level of tourism competitiveness in the lake region of the state of Michoacán in the year 2022, specifically in the municipalities of Pátzcuaro, Quiroga and Tzintzuntzan, with the aim of creating recommendations or suggestions that improve scarce factors. Through a theoretical analysis and the review of specific studies of tourism competitiveness, the variables that determine said competitiveness were identified, being: natural and cultural resources, human and technological capital, infrastructure and government function. Perception surveys were carried out in the three municipalities to people dedicated to tourism and through factor analysis, these were included together with data from official sources as individual indicators to create a competitiveness index. The results indicate that Pátzcuaro is the most competitive municipality in all the variables and Tzintzuntzan the least competitive, except for the Government Function variable, where Quiroga was in last place.

La investigación presentada en este documento mide el nivel de competitividad turística de la región lacustre del estado de Michoacán en el año 2022, específicamente en los municipios de Pátzcuaro, Quiroga y Tzintzuntzan, con el fin de crear recomendaciones o sugerencias que mejoren los factores escasos. A través de un análisis teórico y la revisión de estudios específicos de competitividad turística, se identificaron las variables que determinan dicha competitividad siendo: los Recursos naturales y culturales, el Capital humano y tecnológico, la Infraestructura y la Función Gubernamental. Se realizaron encuestas de percepción en los tres municipios a personas dedicadas al turismo y mediante el análisis factorial, éstas se incluyeron junto con datos de fuentes oficiales como indicadores individuales para crear un índice de competitividad. Los resultados indican que Pátzcuaro es el municipio más competitivo en todas las variables y Tzintzuntzan el menos competitivo a excepción de la variable Función Gubernamental donde Quiroga resultó en último lugar.
