In the present research work, an analysis of the competitiveness of the cosmetic industry of Mexico in the European Union is carried out, as well as the influence of the Total Factor Productivity in it during the period 2000-2022. The methodology used in the analysis is a comparison of competitiveness through the Index of Revealed Comparative Advantages, proposed by Balassa (1965) and Vollrath (1991). To measure productivity and analyze to what extent it determined competitiveness, the Total Factor Productivity Index was used; methodology proposed by Hernández Laos (1993).
En el presente trabajo de investigación, se realiza un análisis de la competitividad de la industria cosmética de México en la Unión Europea (UE), así como la influencia de la Productividad Total de los Factores (PTF) en la misma durante el período 2000-2022. La metodología que se utiliza en el análisis es un comparativo de la competitividad mediante el índice de Ventajas Comparativas Reveladas, propuesto por Balassa (1965) y Vollrath (1991). Para medir la productividad y analizar en qué medida determinó a la competitividad, se utilizó el índice de la PTF; metodología propuesta por Hernández Laos (1993).
