Agricultural careers have an academic and practical focus, aimed at solving problems in production, agronomic management and commercialization of agricultural crops, whose integral orientation allows its graduates to perform with initiative and service attitude. The interest in studying agronomy continues to decline, a situation that can be attributed to the loss of opportunities generated by an internal environment that is not conducive to the development of agricultural activity, whose most notorious sign is the stagnation in the production of horticultural products in agricultural areas. The present study had as objective to know the demand of the races offered by the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo, with emphasis in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in the valley of Apatzingan. It began with the application of surveys to students of upper secondary education of institutions of upper level of the municipalities of Apatzingan, Buenavista Tomatlan, Paracuaro, Mugica and Gabriel Zamora; for its realization, a sample by Conglomerates was used in a Stage, aimed at the students of 5th and 6th semester of high school who graduated in 2016. The surveys had as purpose to know their educational expectations and economic possibilities, to continue their studies of Upper level. 1,094 students were surveyed in 12 high schools, in the five municipalities. It was found that the Horticultural Engineer Agronomist career was chosen by 23 students and the Bachelor of Agricultural Business Administration by 45, which represents 68 possible new incomes for the Faculty. In terms of study modality, the majority (69.7%) prefer the school. The careers of Surgeon, Architecture and Law degree offered by the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo are the ones with the highest demand, with 9.8, 6.6 and 6.2% respectively. It is concluded that it is necessary to expand and consolidate the system of tutoring and vocational training in the baccalaureate and careers so that in this way the permanence of the community-university relationship is ensured. The participation of the students in the operation of intervention programs is also ensured where it is redunde in the development of personal skills in their professional profile.
Las carreras agropecuarias tienen un enfoque académico y práctico, encaminado a solucionar problemas en la producción, manejo agronómico y comercialización de cultivos agrícolas, cuya orientación integral permite a sus egresados desempeñarse con iniciativa y actitud de servicio. El interés por estudiar agronomía continua en descenso, situación que se puede atribuir a la pérdida de oportunidades generada por un ambiente interno poco propicio para el desarrollo de la actividad agrícola, cuya señal más notoria es el estancamiento en la producción de productos hortícolas en zonas agropecuarias. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo conocer la demanda de las carreras ofrecidas por la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, con énfasis en la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias en el valle de Apatzingán. Se inició con la aplicación de encuestas a estudiantes de educación media superior de instituciones de nivel medio superior de los municipios de Apatzingán, Buenavista Tomatlán, Parácuaro, Múgica y Gabriel Zamora; para su realización, se utilizó un muestro por Conglomerados en una Etapa, dirigido a los alumnos de 5to y 6to semestre de bachillerato que egresaron en el año 2016. Las encuestas tuvieron como propósito conocer sus expectativas educativas y posibilidades económicas, para continuar sus estudios de nivel superior. Se encuestaron 1,094 estudiantes en 12 escuelas de nivel medio superior, en los cinco municipios. Se encontró que la carrera de Ingeniero Agrónomo Horticultor fue elegida por 23 alumnos y la Licenciatura en Administración de Empresas Agropecuarias por 45, que representa 68 posibles nuevos ingresos para la Facultad. En cuanto a modalidad de estudio, la mayoría (69.7 %) prefiere la escolarizada. Las carreras de Médico Cirujano, Arquitectura y licenciatura en Derecho que ofrece la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo son las que mayor demanda tienen, con el 9.8, 6.6 y 6.2 % respectivamente. Se concluye que es necesario ampliar y consolidar el sistema de tutoría y formación vocacional en el bachillerato y carreras para que de esta manera se asegure la permanencia de la relación comunidad-universidad. También se asegure la participación de los alumnos en la operación de programas de intervención donde se redunde en el desarrollo de habilidades personales en su perfil profesional.
