Nursing is essentially the care of individuals (healthy or sick) through those activities that contribute to health or recovery (or a peaceful death), which they perform unaided when they have the necessary strength, will or knowledge. ; Nursing also helps individuals adhere to prescribed treatment and become independent of care as soon as possible. The nursing process as a method of care allows the identification of health problems, capacities, real objectives and individualized interventions to provide quality care to the user, family and community.
La enfermería es esencialmente el cuidado a los individuos (sanos o enfermos) por medio de aquellas actividades que contribuyen a la salud o su recuperación (o a una muerte tranquila), que ellos realizan sin ayuda cuando tienen la fuerza, la voluntad o los conocimientos necesarios; la enfermería también ayuda a que los individuos cumplan el tratamiento prescrito y se independicen de esta asistencia lo más pronto posible. El proceso enfermero como método de atención, permite identificar problemas de salud, capacidades, objetivos reales e intervenciones individualizadas para brindar una atención de calidad al usuario, familia y comunidad.
