The nutritional content of Apis mellifera hives depends on the presence of floral resources (nectar and pollen) that bees obtain from plants available in the environment. Pollen as a floral resource represents the main source of protein in the Apis mellifera diet, which is why it is considered an essential component in the physiological and morphological development of honey bee colonies. The objective of this study is to determine the variation in the nutritional quality of pollen in hives from different beekeeping regions during the dry season in Mexico. To achieve our goal, pollen samples were collected from apiaries under contrasting conditions: one site within a protected natural area and one site in areas of agricultural use. Pollen collected on food reserve racks was collected in the hive and also in the rearing spaces. Pollen samples of 20% of the total available hives were obtained from each apiary. Bromatological analyzes were carried out with the samples obtained to determine the nutritional content. Higher levels of nutrients were expected to be found in the Pacific and Altiplano regions, and in the hive breeding area due to the availability of flower resources during the dry season. The results did not show significant differences in the content of nutrients within the hive, and between beekeeping regions only the humidity levels for the North-Pacific were distinguished from the Altiplano, as well as the Ash content in the Pacific-Altiplano regions of the region North.
