Reimaginando la estética de la cultura: perspectivas desde Gaston Bachelard

Abstract

In this research paper, we will attempt to study, critically analyze, and interpret, from a philosophical and aesthetic perspective, the approach expressed in the main texts on Gaston Bachelard's poetics. The goal is to see if it is possible to find in his thought not only an aesthetic, but also to advance the possibility of an aesthetics of culture, one that allows us to consider the foundation of culture, its recreation, and its permanence. We begin by defining what aesthetics is and what aesthetic values such as beauty and ugliness consist of, taking into account that these values are part of the totality of human life and therefore of culture. But we will also need to define another concept: culture. Although aesthetic values such as beauty and ugliness are part of human life and are used to accept or reject what we call artistic works, it is necessary to approach them from a strictly aesthetic point of view, in close relationship with culture, in order to approach a possible aesthetics of culture in Gaston Bachelard. The aesthetic theories used to approach the author's philosophy will be explored. One relevant factor to highlight is the concept he borrows from the aesthetic theorists of the Romantic era: Einfühlung, emphasizing the relationship between objective reality and human subjectivity. For him, the raw material for creation is the material world, particularly the four elements of fire, water, air, and earth. He also places great importance on imagination as a central element that enables the creation of artists' works.

En el presente trabajo de investigación trataremos de estudiar, analizar críticamente e interpretar desde la filosofía y la estética el planteamiento volcado en los principales textos sobre la poética de Gaston Bachelard, con el propósito de observar si es posible encontrar en su pensamiento no sólo una estética, sino avanzar en la posibilidad de una estética de la cultura, que permita pensar en el fundamento de la cultura, en su recreación y en su permanencia. Comenzamos delimitando qué es la estética, y en qué consisten los valores estéticos como lo bello y lo feo, tomando en cuenta que estos valores forman parte de la totalidad de la vida humana y por tanto de la cultura. Pero también tendremos otro concepto por definir: la cultura. Si bien los valores estéticos como lo bello y lo feo son parte de la vida humana, y se utilizan para aceptar o rechazar aquello que llamamos obras artísticas, es necesario abordarlos desde un punto de vista estrictamente estético, en íntima relación con la cultura, para poder aproximarnos a una posible estética de la cultura en Gaston Bachelard. Se explorarán las teorías estéticas desde las que se hace la aproximación a la filosofía del autor y un factor que es relevante resaltar es el concepto que retoma de los teóricos estetas de la época del romanticismo; la Einfühlung, poniendo énfasis en la relación que tiene la realidad objetiva con la subjetividad humana; ya que para él, la materia prima para la creación es el mundo material, particularmente los cuatro elementos fuego, agua, aire y tierra; además de otorgar gran importancia a la imaginación como punto central que permite la creación de las obras de los artistas.
