Phytopathogenic fungi represent one of the leading causes of agricultural losses worldwide, with Fusarium oxysporum standing out due to its wide distribution and high infective capacity. The intensive use of synthetic fungicides has led to the development of resistance and adverse environmental and health effects, highlighting the need for natural alternatives. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antifungal activity of leaf extracts from Styrax ramirezii and to characterize their phytochemical profile by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Plant material was subjected to maceration using hexane and ethyl acetate, and the resulting extracts were tested at different concentrations using the poisoned medium technique against Fusarium oxysporum. Both extracts exhibited concentration-dependent inhibitory effects, achieving up to 100% inhibition of mycelial growth. The ethyl acetate extract showed greater efficacy, reaching high inhibition levels at lower concentrations compared to the hexane extract. Additionally, the half maximal effective concentration (EC₅₀) was determined, confirming the antifungal potency and dose–response relationship. GC/MS analysis revealed the presence of fatty acids, phenolic compounds, terpenes, and benzofuran-type structures associated with antimicrobial activity. Furthermore, a lactone not previously reported in other species of the genus Styrax was detected, contributing a novel element to the phytochemical profile of S. ramirezii. In conclusion, leaf extracts of Styrax ramirezii exhibit promising antifungal activity against Fusarium oxysporum, suggesting their potential application in the management of agricultural phytopathogens. However, further studies are required to isolate and evaluate the compounds responsible for the observed bioactivity.
