Nacimiento de Al Qaeda y su terrorismo internacional en el siglo XXI

Abstract

The present research aims to analyze the birth of Al Qaeda as a terrorist group and its impact on international terrorism during the 21st century, focusing on the years from 2000 to 2015. When analyzing the research on the history of terrorism, a concern arose to understand the historical, political, and religious factors that facilitated its emergence, as well as to analyze the evolution of its strategies and operational tactics, the ideological foundations that justify its actions, and the international responses implemented by governments and their effectiveness in global security. To achieve this research objective, data from academic publications and various archival sources were analyzed, in addition to the current state of counter-terrorism policies. Analyzes were conducted based on the theoretical foundations of treaties on terrorism, agenda-setting theory to explain media influence on public perceptions, and the organization of international responses within the framework of law and international cooperation. The result obtained allows us to have an approximate understanding of how a terrorist group like Al Qaeda projected itself and executed its operations to oppose global stability, using its most emblematic attacks and the prevention strategies developed in response as a case study. The study is divided into four chapters: the first constructs the object of study thru the problem statement and qualitative methodology based on social history; the second chapter analyzes the historical origin of terrorism and Al Qaeda's attacks in the first decade of the 21st century, along with their economic, political, and social impacts as a consequence; the third examines the ideological formation and behavioral patterns of the terrorists; the last and fourth chapter determines the cooperation between countries, the international rights of the victims, prevention models, and the role of international organizations.

La presente investigación tiene por objetivo analizar el nacimiento de Al Qaeda como grupo terrorista y su impacto en el terrorismo internacional durante el siglo XXI, centrándose en los años del 2000 a 2015. Al analizar la investigación sobre la historia del terrorismo, surgió una inquietud por comprender los factores históricos, políticos y religiosos que propiciaron su surgimiento, también analizar la evolución de sus estrategias y tácticas operativas, sus fundamentos ideológicos que justifican sus acciones, así como también las respuestas internacionales que implementaron por parte de los gobiernos y su efectividad en la seguridad global. Para lograr este objetivo de la investigación se analizaron datos de publicaciones académicas y distintas fuentes de archivo, además del estado actual de las políticas antiterroristas. Se realizaron análisis tomando como base teórica los tratados sobre terrorismo, la teoría de la agenda para explicar la influencia mediática en las percepciones públicas, y la organización de las respuestas internacionales en el marco del derecho y la cooperación internacional. El resultado obtenido nos permite tener un acercamiento aproximado de cómo un grupo terrorista como Al Qaeda se proyectaba y ejecutaba sus operaciones para oponerse a la estabilidad global, tomando como caso de estudio sus atentados más emblemáticos y las estrategias de prevención que se desarrollaron en respuesta. El estudio se dispone cuatro capítulos: el primero construye el objeto de estudio mediante el planteamiento del problema y la metodología cualitativa basada en la historia social; el segundo capítulo analiza el origen histórico del terrorismo y los ataques de Al Qaeda en la primera década del siglo XXI, en conjunto de sus impactos económicos, políticos y sociales como consecuencia; el tercero examina la formación ideológica, los patrones de conducta de los terroristas; el ultimo y cuarto capitulo determina la cooperación entre países, los derechos internacionales de las víctimas, los modelos de prevención y el rol de las organizaciones internacionales.
