Tinguaraque (Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiforme) is a wild plant belonging to the family Solanaceae that is distributed in disturbed zones and of transition. Produces small edible fruits that tolerate both pests and diseases related to commercial tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). This tolerance has been related to its defense mechanisms, emphasizing the biochemical elements, based on the secretion and accumulation of secondary metabolites or phytochemicals coming from different structural families and whose qualitative and quantitative concentration varies according to the phenological stage and the tissue being analyzed. Nevertheless, the phytochemicals present in tinguaraque have not been studied at the moment, as well as the potential use as bio-controllers of pathogens of crops of agronomic interest. For this reason and based on the above, the objective was to design a strategy for the search and identification of secondary metabolites with antimicrobial activity. For this purpose, extracts of aerial (TA) and root tissue (TR) from Tinguaraque plants were obtained in the stages of branching (E1), flowering (E2), fruiting (E3) and production (E4) by maceration of sweeping with The solvents hexane (H), chloroform (C) and methanol (M). The extracts were filtered and resuspended in dimethylsulfoxide solution with 1:10 v / v distilled water to test their antimicrobial effect preliminarily by the agar diffusion method. The results showed that the hexane extracts TRE2 and TAE4 recorded inhibitory activity against bacteria (mainly Clavibacter michiganensis and Pantoea stewartii, respectively); Bioactivity corroborated by bioautographs on F254 silica plates. On the other hand, the results by agar diffusion method showed that the methanolic extract of TAE3 was effective to control the fungi Colletotrichum acutatum and Pleurotus ostreatus.
El tinguaraque (Solanum lycopersicum variedad cerasiforme) es una planta silvestre perteneciente a la familia Solanaceae que se distribuye en zonas perturbadas y de transición. Produce pequeños frutos comestibles que toleran tanto a plagas como enfermedades relacionadas al jitomate comercial (Solanum lycopersicum). Esta tolerancia se ha relacionado con sus mecanismos de defesa, destacando los elementos bioquímicos, basados en la secreción y acumulación de metabolitos secundarios o fitoquímicos provenientes de distintas familias estructurales y cuya concentración cualitativa y cuantitativa varía según la etapa fenológica y el tejido que se analice. No obstante lo anterior, al momento no se han estudiado los fitoquímicos presentes en el tinguaraque, así como el potencial uso como biocontroladores de patógenos de cultivos de interés agronómico. Por tal motivo y con base en lo anterior, se planteó como objetivo, diseñar una estrategia para la búsqueda e identificación de metabolitos secundarios con actividad antimicrobiana. Para tal fin se obtuvieron extractos de tejido aéreo (TA) y tejido radicular (TR) de plantas de tinguaraque en las etapas de ramificación (E1), floración (E2), fructificación (E3) y producción (E4) mediante maceración der barrido con los solventes hexano (H), cloroformo (C) y metanol (M). Los extractos fueron filtrados y resuspendidos en solución de dimetilsulfóxido con agua destilada 1:10 v/v para probar su efecto antimicrobiano de manera preliminar por el método de difusión en agar. Los resultados mostraron que los extractos hexánicos TRE2 y TAE4 registraron actividad inhibitoria contra bacterias (principalmente Clavibacter michiganensis y Pantoea stewartii, respectivamente); bioactividad corroborada por bioautografías en placas de sílica F254. Por otro lado, los resultados por el método de difusión de disco en agar, mostraron que el extracto metanólico de TAE3, resultó efectivo para controlar los hongos Colletotrichum acutatum y Pleurotus ostreatus.
