Efecto de la adición de nopal (Opuntia ficus-indica) en la dieta de cerdos para abasto sobre el consumo de agua alimento, rendimiento de la canal y producción de gas metano (CH4) en excretas

Abstract

The general objective was to evaluate the effect of the addition of nopal (O. ficus-indicates) to the diet of pigs from 20 to 100 kg of live weight (LW) on feed intake (FI), ingestion of water (CH2O), growth (Kg), carcass yield (CY) and potential of gas CH4 in feces. The particular objectives to evaluate this diet were: 1) determine the FI, CH2O and LW week-1; 2) establish serum glucose levels (SG), total cholesterol (TC), lower-density (LDL) and high-density (HDL) lipoprotein; 3) evaluate speed of gastrointestinal transit (ST), digestion coefficient (DC) and production of CH4 in faces, 4) determine the morphometry of the intestine (MI) and the length of villi intestinal (VIL) and 5) stablish performance (PC) and quality of the carcass (QC). For the achievement of the first objective, were monitored twenty three pigs group-1; for the second, were taken blood samples from five pigs group-1 at 20, 35, 50, 75 and 100 kg; for the third objective, were monitored ten pigs group-1 to evaluate ST and stablish the DC (bromatological analysis of feces and feed); also for this objective, were subjected to fermentation the faces of twelve pigs group-1 to estimate the curve of CH4; for the fourth objective, were measured and weighed forty six intestines of pigs and, to establish VIL, were evaluated three samples of small and large intestine of seven pigs group- 1 and for the fifth objective, PC and QC was determined with the carcasses of twenty three pigs group- 1. Data were analyzed using the methodology of the generalized linear models, models of fixed effects, repeated measurements and non-linear models, each methodology was used according to each objective.

El objetivo general fue evaluar el efecto de la adición de nopal (O. ficus-indica) a la dieta de cerdos de 20 a 100 kg de peso vivo (PV) sobre: el consumo de alimento (CA), de agua (CH2O) crecimiento (Kg), rendimiento (RC) y calidad de la canal (CC) y producción de gas CH4 en heces. Los objetivos particulares para evaluar esta dieta fueron: 1) determinar el CA, CH2O y PV semana-1; 2) establecer los niveles séricos de glucosa (GS), colesterol total (CT), lipoproteína de baja densidad (LDL) y alta densidad (HDL); 3) evaluar la velocidad del tránsito gastrointestinal (VT), coeficiente de digestión (CD) y producción de CH4 en las heces, 4) determinar la morfometría del intestino (MI) y la longitud de las vellosidades intestinales (LVI) y 5) determinación del RC y CC. Para el logro del primer objetivo, se monitorearon 23 cerdos grupo-1; Para el segundo, se tomaron muestras de sangre de 5 cerdos grupo-1 a los 20, 35, 50, 75 y 100 kg de PV; Para el tercer objetivo, se monitorearon 10 cerdos grupo-1 para evaluar VT y establecer el CD (análisis bromatológico de heces y dietas); También para este objetivo, se sometieron a fermentación las heces de 12 cerdos grupo-1 para estimar la curva de CH4; Para el cuarto objetivo, se midieron y se pesaron los intestinos de 23 cerdos grupo-1 y, para establecer LVI, se evaluaron tres muestras de intestino delgado y grueso de 7 cerdos grupo-1 y en el quinto objetivo, se determinó RC y CC con las canales de 23 cerdos grupo-1. La información recabada se analizó a través de la metodología de modelos lineales generalizados, modelos de efectos fijos, medidas repetidas y modelos no lineales; cada metodología se utilizó de acuerdo a cada objetivo.
