Proyección científica y social del Hospital General de Michoacán de 1901 a 1910

Abstract

When thinking about the study of a medical institution as the General Hospital of Michoacán from their inauguration in 1901, in Morelia, up to 1910, it became necessary to revise, besides their historical antecedents, the scientific currents that influenced in their construction, their medical personnel, the medicine that was practiced in him, the science and the technology of their time, and in a very important way, to be a primordial objective of this investigation, the characteristics of the patients that entered in that moment to this hospital. We will try to build, this way, the social and scientific history of this institution that was always together to the School of Medicine.

Al plantearnos el estudio de una institución médica como el Hospital General de Michoacán desde su inauguración en 1901, en Morelia, hasta 1910, se hizo necesario revisar, además de sus antecedentes históricos, las corrientes científicas que influyeron en su construcción, su personal médico, la medicina que en él se practicaba, la ciencia y la tecnología de su época, y de manera muy importante, por ser un objetivo primordial de esta investigación, las características de los pacientes que ingresaron en aquel momento a este hospital. Intentaremos construir, así, la historia social y científica de esta institución, que estuvo siempre unida a la Escuela de Medicina.
